2021 BMW 540i Review

The brand new 2021 BMW 5 Series is one of the best luxury cars out on the market. Of course, this car is one of the BMW best selling sedans currently on the market, and you get a lot for your money with this vehicle. For this price, you get heated seats, a power-operated trunk lid, and even a remote start package.

If you are one who enjoys a manual car, then this is likely not the option for you, as the standard is an eight-speed automatic transmission. Although you may not be a fan of that for fast cars, it does make for effective transitions from gear to gear. For this high price of a car you also get above-average gas mileage, with 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. This does drop with the V-8 model compared to the V-6 model, so keep that in mind.

Returning to the comfort of this vehicle, you can adjust your seats in literally sixteen different ways. The trunk space is also quite large as you can fit six full-size suitcases in the back of the car. What also makes this car different from the rest is the fact that it comes standard with a 12.3-inch center console display. You also get all of the amenities when it comes to the radio to include Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth audio. The SiriusXM satellite radio will still cost you an extra price, but nonetheless, the car is top-notch.

Under the hood, the 5 Series offers a range of powerful and efficient engines. The 530i comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The 540i features a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 335 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. The M550i features a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine that produces 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the 530e plug-in hybrid combines a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produce a combined 288 horsepower.

In terms of driving dynamics, the 5 Series is one of the most engaging and dynamic luxury sedans on the market. It features sharp and responsive handling, precise steering, and a comfortable ride. The M550i also comes with an adaptive suspension system that provides a sportier and more responsive driving experience.
